The PRINCE2® Foundation course is a comprehensive three day event that provides a detailed understanding of the method and prepares candidates for the Foundation examination.
The course is intensive and includes practical exercises that delegates undertake in order to consolidate the elements of PRINCE2® as they learn them. There is also evening work of at least one hour each day to consolidate the day’s learning and prepare for the examination.
Prerequisites
No prior knowledge of PRINCE2® is expected, other than having read the Summary of PRINCE2® document. It is also expected that delegates will have some knowledge or experience of working in a project environment.
Who should attend?
The course is suitable for anyone involved in projects that will need to gain sound knowledge and understanding of PRINCE2®. This includes Project Managers, Team Managers, plus Project Support and Assurance staff. It is also useful for Project Board members where the project is particularly large or complex or if they are involved in a multi-project environment and need a detailed understanding of the method.
What you will learn?
By the end of this course delegates will understand the philosophy, structure, themes, and process model of PRINCE2®. You will learn how to create Project Briefs, Project Organisation Structure and Project Initiation Documentation.

Precourse Reading
Delegates are sent a Summary of PRINCE2® document along with their joining instructions. This thirty-three page document provides a start point for the understanding of the structure and content of the method. Together with this document delegates will also receive a copy of the APMG PRINCE2® Foundation Examination Candidate Guidance document. This provides details of the examination structure with sample questions. Delegates are asked to read through these documents to give them a head start before attending the course. Each delegate will receive their own copy of the official manual “Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2®” on the first day of the course.
